Government Gone Wild

by Cliff_Feightner on February 7, 2012

Today I am beginning another thread on this blog devoted to fighting the growth of government in this country.  The facts presented on http://governmentgonewild.org/ are nothing short of shocking.  This has nothing to do with social classes, political parties, or individual causes championed by our ‘servants in government’.  It has to do with an immovable, overpowering, self-perpetuating ‘thing’ that has an endless need for food (taxes), and a disgusting discharge (laws) that seek to enslave the very people that it ‘serves’, devouring their treasure (taxes), and covering the people with the very product that it produces (laws).

Government Gone Wild was started by Blaise Ingoglia several years ago, in 2007.  Never mind that he comes from Hernando County, Florida (the county in which I work).  I believe that his message is pure and that his facts are indeed, facts. What amazes me is that this movement has not garnered the attention that it deserves.  It deserves to be a daily column in our daily papers.  It deserves to be a special feature on cable news every day.  The impact of ignoring this looming threat deserves to be a feature on the evening news, every night!  Our freedoms and our treasure are being consumed by a menace that we all can do something about.

The primary premise that you must understand is that this inevitable growth will not go away by itself, the ‘servants’ that are hired will do everything that they can to cause it to grow further and faster, and that this video describes the second greatest threat to our freedoms and existence as self-determined citizens. Further, 144,000,000 of US citizens don’t pay any taxes.  Where do we think that these benefits come from?  Why, they come from the other 164,000,000 of us who DO pay taxes.

Further, there are 21,300,000 federal employees in this country, or 16% of the nation’s workers.  Given that the spouse of those government workers will vote with their spouse, which means 32% of the voting population will vote for NO cuts in government spending.  When that number reaches 51% of the voting public, it’s over; we will have no chance of reducing the size and cost of government.  From the start of this recession, private sector employment has grown 1%, while in the same period of 10 years; growth in government workers has grown 15%!  How far away is that 50% tipping point?

We are in trouble folks, nearly half of us pay no taxes and government employee growth is nothing short of explosive.  So, what are we to do?  Sir Isaac Newton said this.

We, the voting public, we the taxpayers have to become that external force that causes the immovable object to MOVE!  We must say NO to any further growth of government.  We must DEMAND that government shrink!  A good starting point is to measure our candidates for office by a no-growth measuring stick.  Join movements like Government Gone Wild.  Get noisy, be heard, make a difference, stay informed, or forever be covered by that unpleasant discharge spewed forth by government!
